A recommendation on LinkedIn is a comment written by a LinkedIn member to recognise or recommend a client, colleague or business partner.
Viewers of your profile often look at the recommendations to see what others think of your work.
Typically recommendations come from people who think highly of your work, products or services such as managers, colleagues, customers or clients. Receiving a LinkedIn recommendation can be very beneficial to you and your business as it provides a positive review of your products and services on your LinkedIn profile that perspective managers or clients can see.
It is a PDA - public display of acknowledgement; social proof leads to gaining more clients and customers, giving your company a good reputation. This is because perspective managers, clients and customers can see evidence of your products and services being appreciated.
It is also an excuse to connect and creates viral word of mouth. In most cases, people would much rather hire someone with a good LinkedIn recommendation.
Offering someone else a recommendation on LinkedIn is very simple and doesn’t just benefit the person being recommended, but you as well. Your recommendation will be visible on their profile, meaning that you will also appear on their profile making your appreciation and profile visible to the public. This will simultaneously raise your own profile, likely leading to more connections being made. Offering someone a LinkedIn recommendation is simple.
